Top Ten Lessons from the US Navy: Management Lessons of an Aircraft Carrier at Sea – Article by a venture capitalist, Bill Reichert, about management lessons he learned after he spent 24 hours on the USS Nimitz along with a group of bloggers. Military CEOs – Economic Working Paper - An academic working paper by two economists. A bit theoretical but some important insights. In the author’s words here is the purpose of the paper: “We analyze the effect of military service of CEOs on a host of managerial decisions, corporate policies and outcomes.”
The Brand Called You, by Tom Peters Classic article by management consultant extraordinaire Tom Peter launching the entire personal branding movement. Written in 1997 the lessons from this article are still very relevant today for your transition.
